| Lebanese American Renaissance Partnership (LARP) Press Release - Washington, DC November 26, 2006 LARP Condemns Assassination of Sheikh Pierre Gemayel Washington, DC - The Lebanese American Renaissance Partnership (LARP) unequivocally condemns the assassination of Lebanese cabinet minister and Member of Parliament Sheikh Pierre Gemayel. LARP calls upon the Bush Administration-as well as the international community-to take strong action to both find and prosecute those who are working to destroy the oldest democracy in the Middle East by way of killing the cedar revolution leaders, and terrorizing the people of Lebanon. " We will continue the struggle for an independent sovereign Lebanon, no matter how long it takes no matter the price, our struggle is a noble one, we and you Lebanese abroad must not forget Lebanon; we are counting on you, we must not let go of Lebanon, we are very grateful for you visiting us at this critical time, welcome back home! Welcome back in Lebanon". With these words martyred Sheikh Pierre Gemayel concluded his speech on November 11, 2006 during a lunch organized by the LARP in Beirut. The panel on which he was scheduled to participate was cancelled because he was called to an emergency meeting at the Grand Serial. The Lebanese Americans participating in this mission were extremely impressed by Sheik Pierre's demeanor, firm voice and promising leadership. May he rest in peace. LARP is an initiative of Lebanese American business and community leaders who have joined to support the sovereignty of Lebanon in its reconstruction efforts and to establish a link between Lebanese entrepreneurs and their United States emigrant counterparts.
