The American Lebanese Coordination Council (ALCC) is a think tank institution composed of professional individuals and committees united by one common denominator-freedom. The ALCC is committed to fighting terrorism; exposing oppressive regimes suspected of sponsoring terrorism, and/or violating International Laws and Human Rights. Furthermore, ALCC is devoted to promoting freedom and democracy; improving human rights conditions, and progressing health conditions, especially of women and children. Some of ALCC's methods by which these objectives are achieved include but are not limited to:
Providing educational conferences regarding different cultures,customs and religions in order to promote tolerance & co-existence;
Providing support to human and civil rights activists;
Helping US public officials and security agencies better understand the mentality and convictions of terrorists in order to apply the proper methods necessary to win the war on terrorism;
Providing policy-makers of various government agencies and international organizations with thorough research and studies on Lebanon and the greater Middle East region;
Holding conferences to encourage economic reform; promote social and scientific exchanges; recommend political and legal ideas to Lebanon's public officials to help modernize the nation's institutions and to develop the country's infrastructures;
Developing a society through which professionals, who share ALCC's interests and concerns, may come together to undertake concrete measures and projects to improve the conditions and well being of Lebanon's diverse communities;
Of utmost importance to the ALCC is bridging the gap between East and West through the active American-Lebanese professional community by emphasizing the shared principles and values between these two great nations. By doing so, the ALCC hopes to contribute to preserving Lebanon's 6000-year-old culture and heritage.
