AMERICAN LEBANESE COORDINATION COUNCIL
US Congressman Thaddeus McCotter and Michigan Republican Party Chairman Saul Anuzis show solidarity with Lebanon's sovereignty and
freedom:

On Monday, dozens of Lebanese Americans joined Chairman Anuzis for a tree planting ceremony in front of the State Party office. The cedar tree
was planted to show support and solidarity for the Lebanese Cedar Revolution movement. Lebanon has suffered from a continual Syrian military
presence that has limited their freedom and liberty.

The cedar tree planting coincides with legislation, introduced by Congressman McCotter, calling for Syria to completely withdraw all military,
paramilitary and security forces from Lebanon. The resolution also calls for the U.S. government to support free and fair elections in Lebanon and
urges the development of democratic institutions and safeguards to foster sovereign democratic rule in Lebanon.

"We're proud to join with these Lebanese Americans today to stand up for liberty," said Anuzis. "President Bush has said that advancing liberty and
freedom throughout the world is a great goal for the great people of America. We're here today to say that we agree. Freedom is the inherent
desire of all men, women and children, and it should no longer be taken away from the people of Lebanon by an outside power."
