Press Release

The Lebanese American Renaissance Partnership
Washington, DC
October 10, 2006

Washington, D.C. - Walid Maalouf, Director of Public Diplomacy for Middle
Eastern & MEPI Affairs at the U.S. Agency for International Development, in his
personal capacity, invites you to join the Lebanese American Renaissance
Partnership Trip to Lebanon.

The Lebanese American Renaissance Partnership Trip to Lebanon is an
initiative that aims to rebuild Lebanon after the July 2006 war. It consists of a
Lebanese American delegation of 250 business, professional, and community
leaders from around the nation for a two-day conference (November 10 – 11,
2006).  The aim of the trip is to support the Lebanese government’s
institutions and capacity-building, to lift the spirit of the Lebanese people and,
in consultation with the USAID office in Beirut, to provide possible donations to
Lebanese non-governmental organizations and or municipalities in order to
encourage local governments.

This conference will be held under the auspices of the Prime Minister of
Lebanon His Excellency Fouad Seniora. Panel discussion at the parliament, a
luncheon at Solidere, and a press conference for the whole delegation will be
part of the trip plan.

If you are interested in being a member of the delegation and for further
information, please email
